Privacy Policy

Last updated 10 August 2026

Happy Spouse helps you choose gifts, meals and plans for one person you know well — your spouse or partner. To do that, the app stores what you tell it about them. This page explains exactly what is held, where, and how to remove it.

The short version. We store the profile you build and the answers you give. Photos you send are read once and then discarded — the image itself is not kept. The person you are asking about never receives an account, a notification, or access to the profile. You can delete everything at any time.

Who we are

Happy Spouse is operated by Happy Spouse LLC, a Florida limited liability company, which is the data controller for the information described here. In this policy, “we”, “us” and “our” mean Happy Spouse LLC. For any question about this policy, or to exercise any right described here, write to support@myhappyspouse.com.

What we collect

We do not collect contacts, location, calendars, or advertising identifiers.

Photographs

When you photograph a menu, a shelf or an item, the image is sent for analysis and the resulting observations — for example, that a dish contains shellfish, or that a colour suits the person's palette — are saved to their profile. The photograph itself is not retained after the analysis completes.

If you enable private mode in the app, analysis is performed on your device where the feature supports it, and the image is not transmitted at all.

The person you are asking about

The profile describes someone who is not a user of the app. We take that seriously:

You are responsible for entering only information you are comfortable holding about someone close to you. Please do not enter medical records, financial details, or anything they have asked you to keep private.

How your information is used

We do not sell your information, and we do not use it to serve advertising.

Who processes your information

We rely on a small number of providers to run the service. Each acts on our instructions and is bound by contract:

How long we keep it

Your profile and history are kept while your account is open, because their value is that they accumulate. Delete your account and the associated data is removed from live systems within thirty days, and from encrypted backups within ninety. Photographs are discarded immediately after analysis, as described above.

Your choices

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under the GDPR, the UK GDPR, or the California Consumer Privacy Act, including the right to object to processing and to complain to your local supervisory authority. Write to us and we will help.

Security

Information is encrypted in transit and at rest. Access is restricted to what is required to operate the service. No system is perfect, and we do not claim otherwise; if a breach affects you, we will tell you promptly.

Children

Happy Spouse is not directed to anyone under 18 and we do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.

International transfers

Our providers operate in the United States and elsewhere. Where information is transferred out of the UK or European Economic Area, we rely on the standard contractual clauses approved for that purpose.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will update the date above and notify you in the app before the change takes effect.
