Privacy Policy
Last updated 10 August 2026
Happy Spouse helps you choose gifts, meals and plans for one person you know well — your spouse or partner. To do that, the app stores what you tell it about them. This page explains exactly what is held, where, and how to remove it.
The short version. We store the profile you build and the answers you give. Photos you send are read once and then discarded — the image itself is not kept. The person you are asking about never receives an account, a notification, or access to the profile. You can delete everything at any time.
Who we are
Happy Spouse is operated by Happy Spouse LLC, a Florida limited liability company, which is the data controller for the information described here. In this policy, “we”, “us” and “our” mean Happy Spouse LLC. For any question about this policy, or to exercise any right described here, write to support@myhappyspouse.com.
What we collect
- Account details. Your email address and an encrypted password, or the identifier returned by Apple or Google if you use their sign-in.
- The profile you build. The information you enter about the person you are asking about — preferences, sizes, allergies and other hard limits, important dates, and similar notes. You choose what to enter.
- Your questions and our answers. What you ask, what the app replied, and whether you told us the answer landed well.
- Photographs you submit. See the section below, which describes how these are handled differently.
- Basic technical data. Device type, app version, and error reports, used to keep the app working.
We do not collect contacts, location, calendars, or advertising identifiers.
Photographs
When you photograph a menu, a shelf or an item, the image is sent for analysis and the resulting observations — for example, that a dish contains shellfish, or that a colour suits the person's palette — are saved to their profile. The photograph itself is not retained after the analysis completes.
If you enable private mode in the app, analysis is performed on your device where the feature supports it, and the image is not transmitted at all.
The person you are asking about
The profile describes someone who is not a user of the app. We take that seriously:
- The profile is visible only to you. It is not shared, published, or made searchable.
- That person is never contacted, notified, or given an account by us.
- The profile is never used to build advertising audiences or sold to anyone.
- If that person contacts us and asks that their information be deleted, we will honour the request and tell you the profile was removed.
You are responsible for entering only information you are comfortable holding about someone close to you. Please do not enter medical records, financial details, or anything they have asked you to keep private.
How your information is used
- To generate answers to the questions you ask.
- To improve those answers over time, based on the feedback you give.
- To remind you of dates you have chosen to record.
- To operate accounts, subscriptions, and customer support.
We do not sell your information, and we do not use it to serve advertising.
Who processes your information
We rely on a small number of providers to run the service. Each acts on our instructions and is bound by contract:
- Supabase — database, authentication and file storage.
- Anthropic — generates the answers. Content sent through the Anthropic API is not used to train their models.
- RevenueCat, Apple and Google — subscription and payment processing. We never receive or store your card number.
How long we keep it
Your profile and history are kept while your account is open, because their value is that they accumulate. Delete your account and the associated data is removed from live systems within thirty days, and from encrypted backups within ninety. Photographs are discarded immediately after analysis, as described above.
Your choices
- See it. The full profile is visible in the app at any time.
- Correct it. Any entry can be edited or removed.
- Export it. Request a copy of your data and we will send it in a readable format.
- Delete it. Delete your account in the app, or write to us and we will do it.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under the GDPR, the UK GDPR, or the California Consumer Privacy Act, including the right to object to processing and to complain to your local supervisory authority. Write to us and we will help.
Security
Information is encrypted in transit and at rest. Access is restricted to what is required to operate the service. No system is perfect, and we do not claim otherwise; if a breach affects you, we will tell you promptly.
Children
Happy Spouse is not directed to anyone under 18 and we do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.
International transfers
Our providers operate in the United States and elsewhere. Where information is transferred out of the UK or European Economic Area, we rely on the standard contractual clauses approved for that purpose.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will update the date above and notify you in the app before the change takes effect.
